Communicate! Good communication of an ICs performance, what parameters are tested, and how testing is done, is essential to successful custom product development. Test issues should be considered early in the development cycle. The designer must provide a clear description of the custom parts performance. This is usually done with a component specification where performance parameters are listed in a table, measurement conditions are defined, and minimum and maximum test limits set. Examples of Specs. like this are found in Micrels Standard Product Data Sheets. Clarify! A Test Matrix is an effective way of translating the parameters of a device specification into a production test. A simple example of a Test Matrix is shown below. Plan Ahead! Contact Micrel EZ-Analog applications (ezhelp@micrel.com) soon as your prototype program begins; there is no better time to discuss the Test Matrix and testing of your part in production. Act Now! Test programs can be developed for your design for an additional charge. Micrel Semiconductor Test Development will work with you to create a production test system for your design. Please contact Micrel EZ Analog Sales (ezsales@micrel.com) for details. Steps to Test Program Development;
